How many times have you needed a tablespoon or two of tomato paste but all you have is a full tin?
I sometimes buy tomato paste in a tube which makes measuring amounts like that easier.  But if you find yourself with only a tin of tomato paste try this next time…

Freeze the tin for a few hours (or overnight) and then open the can with a can opener on both ends; push the frozen tomato paste out one end so it comes out the other end and slice it into four sections (approx 1  tbsp each).

Put the frozen disks in a baggie and use each disk as you need it…
Brilliant!
