I have a handful of tomatoes in my garden that are not red (and I don’t think they will ripen on the vine so I will have to finish the process on my counter top).
But, I dropped by my local farm stand (@frontstepfarms) to grab a small basket of tomatoes. They are yummy to eat in a salad or in a sandwich now, but I wanted to get some in the freezer for the winter (I bottle tomato puree but I don’t have any chunky tomatoes for the winter).
I just chopped and bagged them. When I make sauce and want some extra texture, I will throw a bag of these in and remember the glory of our Ontario summer in the middle of February!
