Have you seen the salad in a jar craze!
Seems like a crazy trend…I mean, why not just use a tupperware?
Well, for one, glass jars are, um, glass.
Way better than plastic.
So, what about those glass lock containers? For sure, use those…especially if it means getting more salad in your tummy.
But, I love mason jars because they just loo pretty…which means I feel, strangely, like I’m doing something nice for myself…which means I’ll eat better if I don’t feel like I’m eating healthy food just because it’s healthy.

Anyhoo, here is a link to how you layer salads when you make these aweseome jars (yes, there is actually a method).
But, I’ve just discovered that if you add a slice of lemon or lime to the lop layer (which is almost always tender lettuce), you can just give it a squeeze before you toss and it does 2 things:
1. Keeps the top layer a bit more crisp.
2. Add a zing of freshness to the entire jar.
Aaaand, they look so purty…
